OUR PROFESSIONAL TEAM

Nigel E. Blackman, Esq. (LLB, LLM, LEC)

Nigel E. Blackman, Esq., attended Howard University in Washington, D.C whereafter he went abroad and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Guyana. In the year 2000 he proceeded to Touro Law Center in Long Island, New York where he obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M)Degree of Law in U.S. Legal Studies, with a focus on U.S Immigration Law. In June of 2005 he became a member of the Bar of the Sate of New York and was admitted to the Second Appellate Division. Since his admission he has been admitted to the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of New York, the Federal District Court of The Southern District of New York. In 2016 he achieved his Legal Education Certificate (L.E.C) from the Hugh Wooding Law School at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad, W.I. He subsequently became a member of the legal bar of the Republic of Guyana. 

Sheryn Vangenderen Stanton LLB., LEC (Hons)

Sheryn attended the University of Guyana where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2017. She progressed to achieve her Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago in 2021 she went on to be admitted to the Bar in the cooperative republic of Guyana. in her career she has been found to be passionate about the law and the legal profession. She has an exceptional ability and affinity for legal research while possessing a great eye for detail. Over the years she has developed experience researching and drafting for matters in the United States on a variety of issues in areas of the Law with regards to corporations, civil litigation, criminal, bankruptcy and immigration matters.

Felissa Haynes LL.B(Hons), LL.M (Hons)

Felissa Christina Haynes is the primary case manager at ELG. She specializes in case management and legal research. She studied law at the University of Guyana where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 2006. She subsequently attended the University of Hull in Yorkshire, England where she achieved a Master Degree of Laws (LL.M) in 2012. She obtained tenure as a lecturer in the faculty of Law at the University of Guyana and lectured there from 2014 to 2019. Her history of teaching various levels of education spans over 13 years.

Denise Melville-Blackman, Esq

Denise Melville-Blackman graduated Touro Law Center in Central Islip, New York in 2006 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2008. In 2016 she was admitted to the Bar of the State of Georgia. With her focus in Domestic Relations she was appointed Legal Guardian for Children in Hall County courts while successfully representing parties in Domestic Relations matters in New York and Georgia. Her practices included Divorces, Family Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and a variety of Immigration matters. Presently, she is the non-practicing member in the firm. She provides secondary quality control evaluation for administrative, litigation and general ethical practices. Presently she is has gone primarily to the public sector and is a senior staff attorney at the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia.
